How to trim MP3 on Windows

Trimming MP3 removes unwanted parts from an audio file, which could be useful in many cases. In this article, we’re sharing how to do that on Windows.

Why trim MP3 audio files?

There are several most common use cases for removing parts from songs and voice recordings.

Soundtrack or voiceover in a video. You definitely have seen videos with funny sounds, music, or voiceover. Whereas popular social sharing platforms like TikTok and Snapchat have integrated tools to add and trim audio, you may need a movie with sound on a DVD or stored locally on a laptop. Desktop audio editing suites allow producing an audio track as well as the final version of your video.

Ringtone for incoming calls. Most of the default tunes in smartphones are boring, not to mention that so many people use them and you’d check your device whenever someone receives a call. Trimming MP3 files helps create a custom ringtone, which could be your favourite song.

Sampling. Professional music producers and DJs are often inspired by popular melodies and trim MP3 to make samples for remixes and even new beats.
