Summer is about birthdays, picnics, pool parties and many other memorable events bringing funny moments! Still don’t have cool videos to have a hearty laugh at? In this article we’ll share some basic tips for a funny video, no matter if you have a pro camera or just a smartphone.
The success of our funny video consists of three components properly combined — sound, effects and captions. Off we go!
Step 1. Add epic music and sounds
Have you ever noticed how much a good audio track can add to a footage? Frightening and martial music can turn a completely neutral scene into a chilling one. Apply inspiring melodies to the most important parts in your video and make it catchy!
The Internet offers a wide range of free short sounds to emphasize necessary moments in your clip like disappointment, giggle, astonishment, laugh and so on.
If hardware allows, you can also record your own comic voiceover for a better storytelling in the video.
You can also edit the audio track — for instance, speeding up somebody’s voice will make them sound as a cartoon character. Slowing it down will accompany the slow motion effect perfectly.
Step 2. Play with effects

You can enlist who participated in your footage with Black Screen Credits or just add humorous comments. After all, subtitles can help when we can’t here somebody’s speech or want to watch a vid without sound.
Finally, note that the video must give viewers the idea about the whole story within first 15 seconds, otherwise many can simply get bored. Make it short and clear!
