How to rotate a video?

How to rotate a video?

While creating a new video project, you can find out that some clips are vertically-oriented, specifically those taken on a smartphone. That happens because watching vertical videos on a phone is more convenient. Desktop and TV screens are totally opposite — they require landscape mode footages for a better watching experience.

Fortunately, all video editing software supports video rotation feature. In this article, we’ll cover guides for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

Rotate a video on Windows

AVS Video Editor is among the easiest apps to change your clip layout even on older Windows computers.

Step 1. Run the app and import your video to a project.

Step 2. Drop the video you want to rotate to the timeline.

Step 3. Go to Effects -> Transform, and add Rotate to the timeline. Move the effect edges to apply it to the entire clip.

Step 4. Set the desired rotation angle. Click Edit Effects, and move the slider until the proper angle is achieved.

After carrying out these steps just preview and save your movie.

Video rotation on Mac

iMovie is nearly the best and free way to turn your video left or right on Mac. This is a native app available on Apple’s computers and laptops by default — no additional downloads needed.

Step 1. Open a clip in iMovie and click Cropping.

Step 2. Choose either Rotate the clip clockwise or counterclockwise and save the output.
